AxisTV Device Disaster RecoverySOLUTION ID 2171Overview
When it has been determined that the best solution to resolve an issue is to restore an AxisTV device to its factory default state, refer to the following AxisTV device disaster recovery information.
Visix hardware vendors provide various methods of disaster recovery. Your AxisTV device should have one of the following disaster recovery options available. If you cannot determine the method used or have other questions, please contact Visix Support at support@visix.com or (800) 572-4935.
PC Angel
To determine whether or not your AxisTV device has PC Angel disaster recovery software installed, watch for the text "Protected by PC Angel" during POST, and for the PC Angel animated logo to be displayed in the lower right-hand corner of the screen just after logging into Windows.
To restore the system to the factory default settings using PC Angel:
Make sure the device is connected to a network with a DHCP server, that there is access to the Internet for activating Windows, and that you can locate the Windows COA
Start the device and press F10 when ""Protected by PC Angel"" appears during POST. This will start the PC Angel utility.
Follow the on-screen instructions and choose the Factory System Recovery option that will not attempt to save any data on the drive.
Note: With some versions of PC Angel, you must choose Advanced Options and then select System Recovery – Quick Format
Please be patient as this may take several minutes (15-20 minutes is normal)
When it has finished, press Restart to restart the device
Note: PC Angel disaster recovery software may have a limited recovery period. Visix had one report where a user was notified that the recovery period had expired, and after rebooting, PC Angel was no longer an option.
Seneca Data Recovery Center
To determine whether or not your AxisTV device has Seneca Data Recovery Center disaster recovery software installed, look in the Windows Start Menu for the shortcut.
To restore the system to the factory default settings using PC Angel:
Run Start | All Programs | Seneca Data Recovery | Seneca Data Recovery Center
Select the ‘Factory system recovery’ option and follow the prompts to complete the process
After Recovery
After recovering the hard drive image you must allow a series of Visix scripts to run automatically. The machine will reboot several times during the process. Please be patient as this may take several minutes.
If you are prompted to activate Windows before all scripts have completed successfully, answer NO to allow the scripts to continue.
If you are prompted to restart due to new drivers before all scripts have completed successfully, answer NO to allow the scripts to continue.
When all scripts have completed, then answer YES to activating Windows if prompted, and enter the Windows product license number from the COA label affixed to the machine
The AxisTV device is now ready for use

Adding a font to AxisTVSOLUTION ID 2148You can add true-type fonts to an AxisTV System just as you would to any PC. Simply copy a true-type font file into the Fonts folder in the Control Panel of the AxisTV Content Manager and reboot. Then, the font will be available for use in AxisTV.
Font files must also be copied into the Fonts folder in the Control Panel of each Channel Player.
Note: each font rendition (bold, italics, etc.) has its own file.
